Our Mission and Objectives

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse has played an important part in the colorful history of the county.

Our initial role was a mounted law enforcement reserve unit has evolved into a community based volunteer organization composed of men, women and family members who take an active interest in the civic, social and moral welfare of the county and its communities.

We take pride in representing Lincoln County throughout the region in public appearances and ceremonies.

Ownership of a horse or riding ability is certainly not necessary, but continues to be an integral part of the Posse.
