The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse has played an important part in the colorful history
of the county.
Our initial role was a mounted law enforcement reserve unit has evolved into a community
based volunteer organization composed of men, women and family members who take an
active interest in the civic, social and moral welfare of the county and its communities.
We take pride in representing Lincoln County throughout the region in public appearances
Ownership of a horse or riding ability is certainly not necessary, but continues
to be an integral part of the Posse.
To serve the best interests, needs, and social, civic and moral welfare of the citizens
of the County of Lincoln and its communities.
To serve the best interests of and aid the Lincoln County Sheriff and the Sheriff’s
To provide auxiliary services for the Sheriff, as determined by the Sheriff, that
serve the needs of the Department and the County.
To provide a source of civic responsibility for young people in the County.
